Leaders from across Australian and New Zealand sport came together in Melbourne this week for the annual Australian Institute of Sport Wellbeing Summit.
With a focus on embedding wellbeing as a performance enabler, representatives from more than 65 organisations across the Australian high performance system, alongside the AFL, rugby league, rugby union and cricket, shared learnings on what it means to Win Well - balancing performance, people and long-term success.
Athlete voices were central throughout the three-day program, grounding discussions in lived experience and reinforcing a consistent message: when the environment is right, performance follows.
Olympic and Paralympic leaders also shared insights from the world stage, including a session on learnings from the Milano Cortina Winter Games featuring Australian Olympic Chef de Mission Alisa Camplin and three-time Paralympic medallist Ben Tudhope, highlighting how high-performing environments are built and sustained across campaigns.
The final day of the summit provided an opportunity for wellbeing practitioners from across the high performance system to connect, with sessions exploring the evolution of mental health education and how the AIS Mental Health Referral Network is applied in high performance environments.
