Sporting Future Grant Applications Now Open

Greater Shepparton City Council is pleased to announce that the Our Sporting Future Grant Program is now open, with funding available to support development projects and programs which promote sports across Greater Shepparton.

In Summary

  • Grant applications now open – Community sport organisations can apply for funding to support facility development and participation programs across Greater Shepparton.
  • Funding available across four categories – Grants range from up to $5,000 for Sports Aid and Junior and Youth Participation, up to $10,000 for Women and Girls, and up to $13,000 for Minor projects (with a matching component).
  • Encouraging grassroots sport development – The program aims to enhance local sports facilities, foster emerging sports and support participation growth across the region.
  • Applications close 5.00pm, Monday 31 March 2025 – Clubs are encouraged to contact Council's Sporting Clubs Officer to discuss their applications before submission.

Council is inviting community sport organisations to apply for a share of the funding pool, which is available across the following four categories:

  • Sports Aid up to $5,000
  • Junior and Youth Participation up to $5,000
  • Women and Girls up to $10,000
  • Minor category up to $13,000, matching $1 for $1 with an in-kind component available

This grant program is designed to assist community sport organisations with small to medium-sized facility development projects and to foster growth in emerging sports throughout the region.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, highlighted the fantastic opportunity for local clubs and organisations to improve their facilities and support the growth of emerging sports in Greater Shepparton.

"Investing in grassroots sport strengthens our communities, encourages participation, and enhances the sporting experience for players, volunteers, and spectators alike," he said.

"I encourage all eligible clubs to apply and take advantage of this funding to help build a stronger and more inclusive sporting future for our region."

Applications will be accepted until 5.00pm on Monday 31 March 2025. Council strongly encourages applicants to contact Council's Sporting Clubs Officer (Program Coordinator) to discuss proposed activities and eligibility requirements before submitting an application. Organisations/groups can only receive funding in one category per round.
