Spotswood Search Warrant Leads to Charges for Duo

Detectives from the Hobsons Bay Vehicle Crime Reduction Team have charged a man and woman after allegedly locating a commercial quantity of drugs in Spotswood on Friday.

Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives assisted with executing a search warrant at a property on McLister Street, Spotswood on Friday just after 11am.

More than 10 litres of what is alleged to be 1,4-Butanediol was seized from the property, along with a loaded firearm with its serial number removed.

An allegedly stolen Holden VF Commodore and a device to program a key for the car was seized.

Officers arrested a 19-year-old Spotswood woman and a 25-year-old Doveton man at the scene.

They have been charged with prohibited person possess firearm, deface/remove serial on firearm, possess and traffick a commercial quantity of 1,4 butanediol, possess and traffick methylamphetamine, theft of motor vehicle, possess proceeds of crime and handle stolen goods.

The duo will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 5 August.
