PULLMAN, Wash. - The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU invites the community to visit a vibrant lineup of exhibitions and programs this January. With something for all ages and interests, visitors can experience a variety of thought-provoking events, showcasing the power of art.
50 Years of art and collaboration
Opening Jan. 14, "Your Collection: Faculty Remix" marks the museum's 50th anniversary by highlighting a unique collaboration between the WSU Department of Art and the museum's permanent collection. Through June 28, this exhibition brings together historic works from the collection and contemporary works by faculty members in a dynamic dialogue that celebrates this five-decade partnership.
Accompanying the exhibition are special programs, including a Community Perspectives Tour led by Assistant Professor Hallie Meredith on Jan. 16, offering a deeper look into glass art and its historical and cultural significance. The tour will be followed by an opening reception hosted in the Pavilion Gallery, welcoming visitors to experience the exhibition and meet the art faculty whose works are showcased.
Engaging programs for all
On Jan. 21 as part of the National Day of Racial Healing, the museum is hosting "Writers Give Voice," a reading and open mic program in response to the theme, "Keep on Pushing: Building Bridges to Sustainability." The event will include a letterpress printing of a relevant poem, led by Holland Terrell Library's Manuscripts, Archives, and Special Collections.
Additionally, Jan. 31 offers another Community Perspectives Tour led by WSU art faculty Kevin Haas, offering a printmaker's perspective on select works from the permanent collection. Open discussion among tour participants will be encouraged throughout the tour and will be facilitated by Kristin Becker, curator of Education & Programs.
"This spring, we continue to affirm the museum's role as a space for creativity and connection," said Ryan Hardesty, executive director of the museum. "With programs that bridge history and contemporary practice, and exhibitions that engage diverse voices, we invite visitors to explore art's ability to inspire dialogue and enrich lives."

All exhibitions and events are held at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU, located in the Crimson Cube on the WSU Pullman campus. The museum welcomes visitors Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is always free.
