St Marys Community's Health Services Continuity Confirmed

Members,

Delivering the highest standards of health care in rural and regional communities across Tasmania, including St Marys and surrounding areas, is the highest priority for the Rockliff Liberal Government.

Minister for Health Guy Barnett said he was pleased to announce that Ochre Health would provide health services from the St Marys Community Health Centre from October 2.

"The Tasmanian Government is extremely pleased with this timely outcome and we will work to ensure continuity of health services for the community of St Marys and the surrounding areas," Minister Barnett said.

"Today I attended a community meeting in St Marys to discuss health issues and concerns with local residents, receive invaluable feedback and outline progress in providing health services at the St Marys Community Health Centre now and into the future.

"The Rockliff Liberal Government is totally committed to the ongoing operation of the St Marys Community Health Centre and providing access to the right care in the right place and at the right time.

"Rural and regional communities are the life blood of Tasmania and we are committed to leading a strong primary health care reform in conjunction with the Australian Government and Primary Health Tasmania that delivers innovative solutions.

"Once again we thank Dr Latt for his service to the St Marys community for more than 16 years and we look forward to working with both Dr Latt and Ochre Health on a smooth transition that delivers a sustainable health service for the broader St Marys community," Minister Barnett said.
