This year, we welcome nominations for the following positions:

  • President-Elect;
  • Board Director (2 positions available in 2024).
The nominations committee of the STA Board has provided the following advice to members

The nominations committee has conducted a thorough review of the Board's skills matrix and identified the following key skills as highly desirable to complement the existing capabilities on the Board and guide the organisation into the future:

  • Government relations and policy advocacy
  • Leadership in the STEM sector
  • Business development and strategy

In addition to these priority areas, the following core skills and knowledge are valuable in nominees:

  • Strategic thinking and planning
  • Financial literacy and acumen
  • Human resources management and leadership
  • Risk management and compliance
  • Legal expertise

The Board recognises the importance of diversity in its composition, including gender, cultural background and professional experience. We encourage applications from individuals who can contribute to this diversity.

While it is not expected that any single nominee possesses all the identified skills, candidates are asked to clearly articulate in their applications which of these skills and experiences they can bring to the Board, providing specific examples where possible.
