Australian Parliament House, Canberra on a bright day with clear, blue skies.

We are delighted to see the Future Made in Australia agenda given ministerial responsibility and congratulate Senator Tim Ayres on his new expanded remit.

Congratulations also to the Hon Andrew Giles MP on his appointment as Minister for Skills and Training – a crucial portfolio to ensure that Australia has the STEM-skilled workforce it will need to meet its future needs.

"We congratulate all the MPs and Senators given new responsibilities in the ministry, and look forward to working with the government on advancing Australian science and technology," said STA CEO Ryan Winn.

"We are delighted that the Hon Ed Husic MP will continue as Minister for Industry and Science. He is a champion for Australian science and for the economy-boosting power of research and research commercialisation."

"We also congratulate and thank outgoing Minister for Skills and Training Brendan O'Connor and Minister for Indigenous Australians Linda Burney for their tireless work in both portfolios."
