Georges River Council is inviting our local community to mark a special person or event in their lives by planting a celebratory or commemorative tree.
As part of the Celebratory and Commemorative Tree Giveaway initiative, Georges River residents may be eligible to receive a free native tree to plant on their private property.
Residents interested in joining the initiative are encouraged to visit Council's Your Say page to check full eligibility criteria and submit an application.
When you submit an application for a celebratory or commemorative tree and are approved, you will receive instructions on how to collect your tree from a local nursery.
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, "Trees are a symbol of growth, life, and connection. We're proud to offer Georges River residents the chance to honour their loved ones or special events by planting a beautiful native tree.
"This initiative is about celebrating the stories that make our Georges River community unique. Planting a tree isn't just about greenery – it's about nurturing memories and our local environment."
