Perth bowls enthusiasts can celebrate greater access to Mount Lawley Bowling Club facilities, with the official opening of the club's new greens and lighting upgrades today.
The club received $102,000 in funding as part of an election commitment from the McGowan Government to build stronger, healthier communities.
The LED lighting upgrades to the lawn bowling greens will mean reduced operating costs, increased participation and greater access to the wider community due to the ability to host night-time games and social events.
Mount Lawley MLA Simon Millman represented Minister Templeman at the open day today.
As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman:
"Local sport and recreation facilities are vital for keeping our communities connected, healthy and vibrant.
"Bowling clubs are at the heart of their communities, providing important social hubs for people to meet and recreate.
"I'm pleased that this funding has delivered important upgrades at a great facility, ensuring activities and events will now be accessible to even more members of the community."
As stated by Mount Lawley MLA Simon Millman:
"The Mount Lawley Bowling Club is such a popular place with locals and I know that these upgrades will be greatly appreciated by everyone who uses the facilities.
"I am so pleased the McGowan Government has funded these works in line with the 2021 election commitment."
