State Government Accountability Shows Full Picture On DA Processing Times

The peak body for local government in NSW has welcomed the State Government publishing a league table of its own agencies to monitor and hold to account its own planning performance.

In a move that Local Government NSW (LGNSW) has long been calling for, the publicly available data includes a performance audit of 22 State Government agencies in NSW.

Rural and Regional Vice-President of LGNSW Mayor Claire Pontin says publishing the list is recognition that there are many different stakeholders that have a role in development assessment.

"Councils across the State welcome this increased transparency," Mayor Pontin said. "It's good to see the State finally publish the data from its own agencies, as the council league tables have been published monthly since last July.
