Today's high level Business Dialogue in Shanghai, chaired by the incoming President of the Business Council of Australia Geoff Culbert, highlighted the importance of people-to-people relations between Australia and China.
The Dialogue was an important part of the significant visit by Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Trade Minister Don Farrell.
The Dialogue between select Australian and Chinese business Chief Executives highlighted the ongoing strength of the relationship between the business communities.
China remains Australia's largest trading partner, which provides the opportunity for future business.
Representatives of leading Australian and Chinese companies discussed decarbonisation and the green economy, AgriTech, food exports, education, research, financial services, tourism and MedTech.
Mr Geoff Culbert said "these personal exchanges are an essential part of the relationship."
"What we heard today was the significant opportunity that exists for Australian businesses to export to China."
Business Council of Australia Chief Executive Bran Black said "we have to now build on this Dialogue and we hope that we could soon host a similar delegation in Australia."
"Australian businesses selling to China, means more jobs in Australia and that is what we see as the major opportunity from today's discussions."
