Statement From Minister For Multicultural Affairs

VIC Premier

The Victorian Government is gravely concerned for the safety of the many Victorians currently in Lebanon.

With conditions becoming increasingly difficult for Australian citizens to leave the region, I know that many of Victoria's Lebanese community are fearful for the safety and security of their friends and family.

No one deserves to live under the threat of violence, and far too many innocent lives have already been lost over the last year.

The conflict in the Middle East must end and more must be done to prevent further civilian deaths.

The people of Lebanon have endured so much over the last decade, they should not have to endure the threat of further war.

We encourage every Victorian in Lebanon to continue to follow the advice of DFAT.

The Victorian Government stands with our proud Lebanese community - we will walk with you, and we will support you through this difficult time.
