We are aware of media reports surrounding bin audits taking place in Bayside.
The bin audit is occurring over a couple of weeks, and covers our kerbside general waste, recycling and food and green waste bins.
A random selection of bins within Bayside is audited with the contents sorted and categorised, to better understand the composition of our waste. This assists in understanding what the average Bayside bin looks like.
The project is common practice amongst Councils to provide accurate information on community recycling behaviours to inform our recycling and waste education campaigns and increase our diversion from landfill.
Council will ensure that these audits are carried out during normal collection hours (between 6am and 5pm) weekdays.
