Stay Safe On Our Roads This Summer

Tasmanian Government

This holiday season, the Tasmanian Government is encouraging all Tasmanians to be safe on our roads.

Minister for Transport, Eric Abetz, said every fatality on our roads is tragic.

"Over the Christmas and New Year period Tasmanians will be on our roads in force as they take advantage of the holiday period," Minister Abetz said.

"The message remains clear – please be safe, responsible and mindful as we share the roads this busy season.

"This is a timely reminder, as we launch Operation Safe Arrival today which will run from 23 December through to Wednesday 1 January 2025.

"Ensure you are driving to the conditions, that you are well rested and please never drive under the influence – these are steps which all Tasmanians can take to make our roads safer.

"Let's make this holiday season a safe and joyous one for all Tasmanians, and the many visitors we have enjoying our State at this time of year."

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is working hard to make our roads safer and more efficient as part of the 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future.
