What can you do to keep yourself and your loved ones safe?
- watch your step - keep an eye on pets and children when outside
- keep your yard tidy - remove debris and keep grass cut
- learn lots - learn about local snake species and their habitats.
- know who to call - if someone is bitten, call 000 immediately
Did you know snakes are protected under the Wildlife Act 1975, and capturing, harming, or killing them is illegal? If you encounter a snake, keep your distance and contact local wildlife authorities if needed.
