Sten Orrenius Prize 2024

Felipe de Oliveira Galvão received the Sten Orrenius Prize 2024 for Best Publication in Toxicology.

To honor the late Prof. Em. Sten Orrenius, IMM established an award for best original article by an early career scientist in the field of toxicology to be awarded every two years. The inaugural prize was awarded in 2022. The second Sten Orrenius Prize was awarded in January 2025 to Dr. Felipe de Oliveira Galvão at the Unit of Biochemical Toxicology at IMM for a study on cancer risk assessment using an in vitro model.

The prize committee consisted of Prof. Sandra Ceccatelli, Prof. Em. Boris Zhivotovsky, and Prof. Em. Peter Moldeus, all of whom are former associates of Prof. Em. Sten Orrenius. The prize was awarded by Prof. Bengt Fadeel, Deputy Head of IMM and a former doctoral student of Prof. Em. Sten Orrenius.
