Stewart to Attend 2024 STRATCOM Deterrence Symposium

Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control, Deterrence, and Stability (ADS), Mallory Stewart, will travel to Omaha, Nebraska, August 13-14, 2024, to attend the 2024 United States Strategic Command (STRATCOM) Deterrence Symposium.

The STRATCOM Deterrence Symposium is a premier annual event that brings together the nation's academic, military, and political leaders focused on deterrence, as well as international allies and partners, to engage in high-level discussions on strategic challenges. During this year's symposium, Assistant Secretary Stewart will discuss the role of arms control in supporting U.S. deterrence policy and strategy.

Assistant Secretary Stewart will join a panel discussion on "International Laws and Norms," highlighting the importance of international norms and agreements in maintaining global stability and security. Her participation underscores the ADS Bureau's commitment to reinforcing a rules-based order and addressing contemporary security challenges through diplomacy and strategic collaboration.
