Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) will continue to monitor wastewater discharges from South Gippsland Water's (SGW) Korumburra treatment plant to Foster Creek as the plant returns to normal operations.
The plant has been experiencing processing problems leading to the discharge of partially treated water to the creek above the limit set by its licence.
"The plant's processing capacity is returning to normal and EPA officers have been regularly monitoring the creek downstream of Korumburra for potential pollution issues and that will continue,' said EPA State Agency Commander Jessica Bandiera.
"South Gippsland Water must still ensure any discharged waste water is within its licence limit."
EPA will also continue to investigate if there have been any breaches of the law and will take further action in line with its compliance and enforcement policy.
