Stolen car and firearm located at St Marys, South Australia

A man and woman have been arrested after a stolen car and firearm were located at St Marys this morning.

About 12.30am on Tuesday 6 July, police responded to a disturbance in a back street of St Marys where a man and woman were arguing next to a BMW and Range Rover. When patrols arrived, the man ran off but was quickly arrested nearby.

Police searched the man and located identification in his possession that was believed to be stolen along with a set of car keys. Officers discovered those keys belonged to the Range Rover which had been stolen from a break-in at Chandlers Hill on Sunday.

During that same break-in, a firearm was also stolen from the home.

Patrols searched the BMW and located the stolen firearm in the boot of the car.

A number of other items were located including sets of number plates and power tools which were also believed to be stolen.

A 30-year-old woman from Morphett Vale and a 40-year-old man from Hackham West have been arrested and are currently being questioned by police.

Investigations are continuing.
