Police have charged two people after a stolen vehicle was tracked at the Sunshine Coast yesterday, March 20.
It will be alleged that a Toyota Corolla was stolen from a Nambour address on March 19.
At 7:30am yesterday, the Toyota was observed travelling along the Bruce Highway at Nambour before it was tracked to a carpark near Poinciana Avenue at Tewantin.
Officers then took two people, a 24-year-old Nambour man and a 23-year-old Pimpama woman, into custody nearby.
During a subsequent search of the vehicle, it will be further alleged that a firearm was located and seized.
The 24-year-old Nambour man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, receiving tainted property, possessing counterfeit money, unlawful possession of weapons, authority required to possess explosives.
He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.
The 23-year-old Pimpama woman has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, fraud.
She is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 4.
