Stolen Vehicle Charges At Springfield

Police have charged a man with multiple alleged property and stolen motor vehicle offences, after a stolen vehicle was located in Springfield yesterday, March 31.

It will be alleged, at approximately 2pm on Sunday, March 30, a 37-year-old man attended a fuel station on Kingston Road in Slacks Creek to test drive a white Toyota Hiace van, which had been advertised for sale, before stealing it.

At approximately 11.40am on Monday, March 31, the stolen van was located at a Southern Cross Circuit business carpark in Springfield Central.

A 37-year-old Redbank Plains man was taken into custody at the scene and has since been charged with multiple offences including, five counts of enter premises and commit, and two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing.

He is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court today, April 1.
