A 27-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman are assisting police with their investigations after a Maserati sports car was allegedly stolen from a residence at Helensvale in the early hours of this morning.
Shortly after 6am, police were called to a North Bank Court residence following reports that a number of people were disturbed while committing an alleged break and enter offence.
There were also reports the group were in possession of a knife and firearm.
The owner of the Maserati was assaulted during the course of the incident. He sustained minor injuries.
The group allegedly drove off in the Maserati and witnesses also observed a white Mercedes sedan in the vicinity at the time of this offence.
A Porsche that was parked at the home was damaged when the group allegedly tried to gain entry into the vehicle.
Police tracked the Maserati from the Gold Coast to Logan using PolAir.
It was eventually located in Trinity Way at Drewvale around 12.15pm.
A 27-year-old man was taken into custody with the Maserati.
Further investigations by police also led them to an 18-year-old woman at Beenleigh.
Police are still searching for a third man and the white Mercedes that was seen in the area.
