Stolen Vehicles At Peak Crossing

A man is in custody after police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device (TDD) at Peak Crossing to stop an alleged stolen vehicle last night, January 31.

Around 10.08pm, a black VW Tiguan and a silver Hyundai Santa Fe were reported stolen from a Peak Crossing residence.

Police, with the support of POLAIR and dog squad, tracked the Santa Fe to a rural property where police successfully deployed the TDD at Hillside Road around 11.30pm.

A 40-year-old Leichhardt man was taken into custody and is assisting police with enquiries.

Prior to being stopped, the Santa Fe caused damage to fences along Weatherhead Road and Hillside Road.

Property owners who have damaged fencing as a result of this incident should contact Policelink on 131 444 and quote QP2500188477.

The stolen Tiguan remains outstanding.

Any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV vision of either vehicle in the area last night is urged to contact police.
