Stonewood Homes extends partnership with Wellington Lions ahead of the Bunnings Warehouse NPC season
Stonewood Homes has again signed on as a major sponsor of the Wellington Lions, who will kick off their Premiership campaign against Bay of Plenty at Sky Stadium on Sunday 7 August.
Stonewood Homes Director Michael Chow said the residential building group was proud to be a long-standing partner of the Wellington Lions and he looked forward to a successful season of rugby.
"We have been a major sponsor of the team for seven years now and we have a strong commitment to the club and community sport, in our region," Chow said.
"Rugby Union remains one of the most popular sports in New Zealand and it's a game that brings communities together in support of their teams."
Wellington Lions Director of Rugby, Matt Evans said Stonewood Homes had been a long-time loyal supporter of the Lions. "We're extremely proud and excited to continue this partnership with Stonewood Homes," Evans said.
"They've been with us for the last seven years, showing commitment to both the team and our community."
Evan said the Lions looked set for a strong season, with the side featuring eight players who have played for the All Blacks, including World cup winner Nehe Milner-Skudder, brothers Julian and Ardie Savea, and 22 current or former Super Rugby players.
"We also have some talented Wellington youngsters new to the side, including Oriental-Rongotai loosie Sione Halalilo and New Zealand U20s midfielder Riley Higgins. Petone loosie Peter Lakai and MSP lock Josh Toómaga join the side on a full-time basis after debuting last year."
