As a result of yesterday's storm, the City of Casey has received a large number of calls to our customer service centre. Since yesterday afternoon, more than 500 requests for assistance have been received, mainly for fallen trees.
Our contractors are working to clear the trees as soon as possible. We are prioritising requests based on urgency and impact and appreciate your patience and understanding, as we work through the backlog of requests over the coming days/weeks.
There are currently no major road closures in place, however there are some traffic lights that are not operating. If you are out on the roads, please be cautious and drive to the conditions. Please be aware of fallen trees, branches and other debris.
We are also aware that there are significant power outages across the City of Casey. If you are a resident without power who is power dependent and requires urgent medical assistance, please call Triple Zero.
Relief drop-in centre now open
A relief drop-in centre is now open for residents who are currently without power at McNab Recreation Reserve, 8 Tony Way in Cranbourne West.
Residents will have access to showers, power to charge their phones and other devices and phone reception.
You must bring your own toiletries, towels and phone chargers.
Domestic wastewater systems/septic tanks
If you suspect your residential wastewater system has been affected by power outage, contact a licensed plumbing practitioner or service agent to have it assessed. Until you are certain your septic system is working properly, minimise your water use.
