Kiama Council thanks everyone who made the Kiama Winter Street Festival a success.

Our amazing team at Destination Kiama delivered their usual top shelf and whole hearted efforts pulling together the Festival.

They even managed to get the weather gods to play their part with some chilly conditions.

Our thanks to the businesses our Destination Kiama team collaborated with, the performers and suppliers that brought Terralong Street to life, and of our community that came out and supported the Festival.

Our particular thanks to Transport for NSW for their funding support for this wonderful event via their Vibrant Streets Package - Open Streets Program.

The Open Streets Program provides funds for events that safely turn our main streets venues for vibrant and creative community events.

As well as providing free, family-friendly fun, the objective is to support local jobs and businesses as well as foster private-public partnerships for long-term place management.

We can proudly say we've achieved all this and more, including:

Free children's entertainment and activities with local artists and performers, including drumming, hip-hop, and outdoor play, allowing our kids to explore new hobbies.

We also had families enjoying new dining and retail experiences at nearly 50 of our local cafes, restaurants and shops, thanks to extended trading hours during the festival.

This meant more work for our hospitality workers, and increased turnover for our local businesses.

The festival also provided opportunities for our charities and not-for-profits to connect with our community.

Lastly, we now have a revitalised Terralong Street and Hindmarsh Park sporting two new magnificent murals and permanent festoon and fairy lights.

Thanks to everyone, we managed to turn a regular, sleepy winter weekend in downtown Kiama into a vibrant community event!
