A man is in court today charged after search warrants were executed in the state’s North Coast as a part of Strike Force Coquett, NSW Police saye
Strike Force Coquette was established in January 2017 to investigate property-related offences which were occurring within the Richmond Local Area Command. The strike force comprises officers from Richmond Target Action Group, Richmond Detectives, State Crime Command, and Property Crime Squad.
Following extensive inquiries, about 8am yesterday, officers executed two search warrants at homes on Mongogarie Road, Leeville, 15km south west of Casino, and Clearfield Road, Clearfield, about 40km south of Casino.
While searching the properties, police located a large amount of property alleged to be stolen including several cars, an excavator, and other machinery. The stolen property recovered has been valued at more than $300,000.
Officers arrested a 46-year-old man at the Leeville address and he was taken to Casino Police Station.
The man was charged with a number of offences including
• Knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime
• Facilitating organised motor vehicle re-birthing activities
• Receiving property stolen outside NSW (two counts)
• Goods in custody (three counts)
• Carry on business of an auto dismantler without licence
• Deemed supply cannabis
• Possess cannabis.
He was refused bail before his appearance in Lismore Local Court today.
