Strike Force Gangele established after shooting death in Unanderra

Police have established a crime scene and inquiries are underway following the death of a man shot outside a home in Unanderra this morning, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to the home on Carr Parade about 2.15am (Wednesday 14 February 2018), and found a man suffering a gunshot wound.

Police officers conducted CPR until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived; however, the man died at the scene.

The man is yet to be formally identified but he is believed to be aged in his 30s.

Strike Force Gangele has been formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. It comprises detectives from ?Lake Illawarra Local Area Command assisted by State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

A crime scene has been established and a canvass of the neighbourhood conducted.

Police are speaking with a number of people, but are calling on anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
