Strike force investigates armed robbery, sexual touching of teen - Southern Highlands

A strike force has been established after a teenage girl was sexually touched while being robbed at knifepoint in the Southern Highlands last week.

About 6pm on Wednesday 20 May 2020, a 14-year-old girl was walking her dog in Lackey Park on Lackey Road, Moss Vale, when she was approached by three unknown men.

One of them produced a knife and threatened the girl, demanding money. She was pushed to the ground and sexually touched after the knife was used to cut the top she was wearing.

The males left, and the girl returned home before police were notified.

Officers from The Hume Police District attended and established a crime scene at the location.

The men have been described as being in their late teens or early twenties.

As inquiries continue, officers from The Hume Police District and the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad have established Strike Force Willunga to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are urging anyone who was in Lackey Park between 3.30pm and 7pm last Wednesday (20 May 2020), to contact Southern Highlands Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
