Detectives from Strike Force Sweetenham have charged two teens over multiple vehicle thefts across Sydney and Newcastle this year.
About 8am yesterday (Friday 17 November 2023) specialist officers executed a search warrant on a home in Toongabbie.
During the search police seized multiple items believed to be linked to aggravated break and enters leading to vehicle thefts throughout Sydney.
Police arrested a 15-year-old boy at the home. He was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with seven counts of aggravated break and enter and steal, aggravated robbery inflict actual bodily harm, five counts of be carried and conveyance without consent of owner, three counts of steal motor vehicle, participate in criminal group and disguised with intent to commit indictable offence.
Following inquiries police arrested an 18-year-old man in Toongabbie the same day.
He was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with three counts of aggravated break and enter and steal, trespass enter enclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, dishonestly obtain property by deception, be carried in conveyance without consent of owner, face blackened, disguised with intention to commit indictable offence and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
Police will allege in court the two were involved in car thefts in Kings Langley, Merewether, Gladesville, Abbotsford, Lambton, Hamilton and Westmead between July 2023 and November 2023.
The 15-year-old was refused bail to appear before children court today (Saturday 18 November 2023) and the 18-year-old was granted bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court on Friday 15 December 2023.
