Strike Force Vulcan Charges Man After Mosman Fire

Strike Force Vulcan officers with the assistance of officers from Fremantle Detectives, have charged a 54-year-old man after a scrub fire in Mosman Park on Friday, 24 January 2025.

It will be alleged about 4:45pm, the man was in the vicinity of a shared path along the Swan River near the Tom Perrott Reserve, when he set fire to vegetation. The fire burnt approximately 500 square metres of bushland.

The 54-year-old man from Mosman Park was charged with:

• Two counts of Wilfully Light or Cause to be Lit a Fire Likely to Injure or Damage.

He appeared before the Perth Magistrates Court 25 January 2025 and was bailed to next appear on 14 March 2025. This offence carries a maximum penalty of 20 years' imprisonment.
