Student Police Officer Charged in Asquith Domestic Violence

A student police officer has been charged with domestic violence following an incident in Sydney's north.

About 6pm yesterday (Friday 16 August 2024), police were called to a premises at Asquith, following reports of an alleged domestic violence incident.

Following inquiries, a 28-year-old man was charged with common assault (DV) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Police will allege in court the man prevented a woman from leaving a property and slammed a door on her hand.

He was given conditional bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court on Tuesday 3 September 2024.

The man's offer to commence training with NSW Police has been revoked.
