More than 60 exceptional Tasmanian senior secondary students from across the State will be recognised at a ceremony at Government House this evening.
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said the 64 students will receive TASC Outstanding Achievement Awards at the ceremony to acknowledge their accomplishments, effort and dedication.
"Congratulations to all of the award recipients on their achievements and excellence in a diverse range of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and academic studies last year," Minister Palmer said.
"All of our award recipients are impressive young people who have excelled in their chosen courses and have distinguished themselves through their achievement, resilience and dedication to learning.
"Your teachers, family, friends and the Tasmanian community are proud of you, and we look forward to seeing what you go on to achieve with whatever you choose to do next.
"We recognise that education is the most powerful driver for improving economic and social outcomes in Tasmania, and supporting a job-ready generation of young Tasmanians is a key focus of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future."
The TASC Outstanding Achievement in VET Award will be presented to 30 students to recognise their demonstrated excellence in their VET programs in a range of fields, like tourism, hospitality and construction, while also successfully achieving the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE).
Meanwhile, 34 students will receive the TASC Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, recognising those who attained Tasmania's highest academic results with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 99.5 or above.
