The IIS challenges all UvA students to submit ideas for a new course. Always wanted to have a say in the UvA curriculum? Keep reading!

Every year, the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (IIS) organises the UvA Create a Course Challenge, in which you, as a student, can think along with us about how teaching should be organised, what courses should be taught, the kinds of methods that should be used and the roles students and lecturers should play.
This Challenge is calling for students to explore uncharted terrain and to think about ways to make education fun, challenging and meaningful.
How does it work?
The UvA Create a Course Challenge consists of four rounds. Submit the first draft of your course idea before 8 October. After that, you get the time to further develop your course with the help of our Action Plan. Our curriculum developers will select 10 ideas, and all UvA students and staff can vote once on their top 3. The five ideas with the most votes will continue in the challenge. During the live finale on 25 November, the finalists pitch their ideas and the winner is chosen by the jury. The IIS and the winner will work together to develop the course.
This is your chance to make your vision on education a reality; the winning course will be launched as an IIS elective course for the whole UvA community in September the following year!
