Subsidized Worm Farms, Compost Bins Available Soon

Throughout October and November, Mitchell Shire Council is offering a Compost Bin and Worm Farm Subsidy. Residents can claim up to 50% back on the purchase of any compost bin or worm farm from participating retailers, with subsidies capped at $50 for worm farms and $30 for compost bins.

This subsidy also now offers residents an opportunity to incorporate pet poo worm farms into their home recycling routines. By diverting pet waste to these systems, residents can freeing up space in their general rubbish bins and reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill.

To claim the subsidy, simply purchase your pet poo worm farm, compost bin, or worm farm from one of the retailers listed below, then complete the claim form on our website within seven days of purchase.

Participating retailers include:

  • Kilmore: Kilmore Mitre 10 - only stockist of Pet Poo Worm Farm
  • Seymour: Bunnings
  • Wallan: Pretty Sally Home and Garden

The Compost Bin and Worm Farm Subsidy will open for application on 1 October, and will run until 30 November or until funds are exhausted.
