A 20-year-old Rockhampton man has been charged with murder following investigations into the death of a 10-week-old girl at Gracemere on January 22.
Around 11.15pm on January 19, emergency services were called to a Gracemere property to reports an infant was unconscious and not breathing.
The child sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital before being airlifted to Brisbane. The child was pronounced deceased days later on January 22.
Following investigations, detectives from Rockhampton Child Protection Investigation Unit and specialist police from Crime and Intelligence Command's Child Trauma Unit arrested and charged a man overnight, February 18.
The 20-year-old Rockhampton man has been charged with one count of murder (domestic violence offence).
He is due to appear before Rockhampton Magistrates Court today, February 19.
