- Warner Bros. is reportedly considering other spin-off movies for two other members of "Suicide Squad". Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie, is the first member to get a spin-off movie which will focus on several DC's female heroes and villains.
As AceShowbiz said citing We Got This Covered, WB and DC are so convinced that "Suicide Squad" is going to be a hit that they're considering the future of all the characters following the bad reception of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice".
A source tells the site, "They're going to do a sequel for sure, and the recently announced spin-off with Margot Robbie has got everyone excited, too, but their plans don't end there. The studio is feeling very confident in the property. They think it's going to be a really big hit and they think audiences are going to fall in love with these characters."
According to the source The Joker (Jared Leto) and Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) will get their own spin-offs. "I've heard more than a few talks of giving some of the other Task Force X members their own spin-offs, and like the Harley Quinn one, these films would open the door for a ton of new DC characters to show up," says the source.
"The Joker is a definite possibility for a spin-off, and Jared [Leto] seems up for it from what I've been told," the source adds, "They're also really hot on Jai Courtney's character Boomerang right now. Nothing's set in stone yet, but you're definitely going to be seeing a lot more of these guys in the years to come."
"Suicide Squad" is coming to U.S. theaters on August 5.
