Summer Plains Burst with Cultural Shows, Family Activities

Marc Hervieux, France D'Amour, Maten and Michel Pagliaro will take to the stage of the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand this summer

Quebec City, Quebec, May 16, 2024 - Beginning June 13, the Plains of Abraham will again be the venue for a cultural program on the outdoor stage of the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand. Musical performances, organized family activities, a night of Irish entertainment, and a storytelling night will be presented for free against the enchanting backdrop of the park. New this year, the public will be able to savour foods and drinks at Café La Maison Smith, available at the Central Pavilion starting in June.

In keeping with tradition, the Bandstand will resonate to a variety of catchy tunes, ranging from country music to rock and including Québécois music, rap, and traditional Innu chants. The Sugar Cake Band will kick off the season with the greatest hits of Latin, disco, pop, and rock. During the summer, spectators will get a chance to hear Blue Ridge Band, BSSR Breen Leboeuf, The Singing Pianos, Eliot Couture, Michel Pagliaro, Ya Cetidon, Taktika, Karma Kameleons, Guy Cardinal, Rock City, Yanick Lanthier, Anik St-Pierre, France D'Amour, LOVEU2, the company V'là L'Bon Vent, Heart of Gold (Tribute to Neil Young), Gaston Giroux, Martin Deschamps, Les Studebakers, Les Divas Latines, Katia Rock, Maten, La Musique du Royal 22e Régiment, Béland and Friends, and Marc Hervieux.

In addition to musical performances, the Bandstand will host a night of Irish dance and music with the Shannon Irish Dancers, as well as a storytelling night with tales told by three characters from the past. There will also be a lineup of family-friendly activities: the experiments of the Boite à science; the canine show Les 4 pattes en folie; the circus duo Les Cousins; and the interactive musical show Ari Cui Cui.

The arrival of the Café La Maison Smith on the Plains will enable the numerous park visitors to enjoy locally roasted coffees, refreshing drinks, and healthy food. During the summer, its business hours will be based on the calendar of events held at the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand and on the Plains of Abraham.
