Palaszczuk Government commits to hosting community forums on the Sunshine Coast
Sunshine Coast community members to have a greater say in shaping the future in their region
Forums will strengthen partnerships between community, industry and government
The Palaszczuk Government's commitment to regions across Queensland will be strengthened by the expansion of a new community forum program in the Sunshine Coast.
The forums will provide a further mechanism for locals to directly engage with Government to identify opportunities to grow the local economy and respond to community priorities.
This is a chance for 10 Sunshine Coast members to join the forum, to establish key local objectives and opportunities and to work on local place-based solutions to identified issues.
Forum members will have opportunities to connect with each other, industry, and government to help make their communities an even better place to live and work.
Local community representatives are invited to apply to become forum members through a formal expression of interest process that will open this week, with the first meeting to be held before the end of the year.
The Sunshine Coast Community Forums will leverage the success of the Queensland Government's Regional Community Forums, which have delivered 17 rounds of forums across seven regions since 2019.
