Penrith City Council is calling on residents to take part in a short survey to share ideas on how we can celebrate and support our culturally diverse community.
The Penrith Local Government Area is home to people from many different cultures and backgrounds and to continue to foster Penrith as a city where everyone belongs, Council is developing a Multicultural Action Plan 2024-2027. The project is currently seeking community consultation to identify needs within the community and to gain insights on how we can strengthen relationships resulting in a more connected Penrith.
By taking part in a short 7-minute survey the community can share their aspirations for the draft Multicultural Action Plan.
Penrith Mayor Tricia Hitchen said the insights gained from this survey are invaluable to creating a stronger, cohesive and connected Penrith.
"Council values the voices of our diverse community and recognises the importance of hearing them. Our community's insights and ideas are vital in shaping our Multicultural Action Plan, which aims to support and celebrate the cultural and linguistically diverse community of Penrith City." Cr Hitchen said.
"Council believes that a community that embraces diversity and inclusivity is stronger and more resilient, and we are committed to creating this sense of belonging for everyone. By working collaboratively with the community we ensure that everyone has a chance to be included and heard."
Community members can give us feedback during the community consultation period until 28 July by completing an online survey at https://www.research.net/r/PenrithMulticulturalActionPlansurvey
