Supporting Alice Springs: Events Season In Full Swing

NT Government

The Finocchiaro CLP Government continues to support the people of Alice Springs as the town welcomes cooler weather and a stellar events season.

Minister for Logistics and Infrastructure, and Member for Namatjira, Bill Yan encouraged the town's residents to join in the fun.

"After months of searing heat, we are looking forward with enthusiasm to enjoying the events heading our way over the coming months," said Mr Yan.

The four-day FabAlice festival was held over the weekend with thousands of people in attendance, and the event has been hailed a great success.

Minister for Lands, Planning and Environment, and Member for Braitling, Joshua Burgoyne said: "FabAlice kicked off a raft of activities that promotes everything that is positive about living in the heart of the country."

Parrtjima 2025 turns on the lights on Friday, 4 April.

This festival of light will amaze with Australia's longest light show installation where the 300-million-year-old MacDonnell Ranges are brought to life with light and sound.

The energy continues to build with the running of the Alice Springs Cup on Sunday, 7 April - the grand finale of the Alice Springs Cup Carnival.

"Keep in mind some of the events that are happening out of town, including the Aileron Bush Weekend over the Easter long weekend that this year celebrates 20 years of showcasing outback fun," said Mr Yan.

The annual bush bash features a classic rodeo, gymkhana, motorkhana, arena party and not-to-missed rodeo bush dance, and this is only the prelude.

"After the May Day Bangtail Muster, the Finke Desert Race roars into action on the June long weekend, followed by the Alice Springs Beanie Festival and the Desert Festival in July, so there is plenty to do over the next couple of months," said Mr Burgoyne.

"Let's not forget our new national tourism campaign - Love Letters to Alice, a reminder to us all of how much we love this town and a message to others around the country, and across the world, to come and find the love as well."

Under the Finocchiaro CLP Government, Alice Springs is turning around for the better as we mark 2025 as a year of action, certainty and security.

"For the first time in a long time, there is a sense of optimism in Alice Springs, and the $27 million we have invested here in new infrastructure projects is being rolled out," said Mr Yan.
