Supporting New Cat Management Facility

Tasmanian Government

The Tasmanian Government continues to promote responsible cat management in Tasmania.

Minister for Primary Industries and Water, Jane Howlett, said the Government has committed $500,000 for new cat management facilities for the North-West and West Coasts.

"Today we have opened a grant program to deliver on this election commitment," Minister Howlett said.

"We have listened and know that having access to cat management facilities is a priority for the community.

"We are also developing the Tasmanian Cat Management Plan 2024-2029 to guide future management activities in consultation with key stakeholders.

"Our focus is firmly on delivering our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future and cat management is an important part of it."

Applications will be accepted until Friday 21 February 2025. The total funding available is $500,000 and may be provided to one or more applicants, depending on the solutions offered.
