The Australian Government has announced $4.3 million in grants are available through the Great Barrier Reef Citizen Science Program.
The Program will fund strategic and collaborative citizen science projects that involve community, Traditional Owners and other partners.
These projects will support work to address threats for the Reef.
They could include:
- data collection
- monitoring
- reporting
- application
Managing the Reef is a big, complex job. Enabling citizen scientists and other partners to take action and provide support is vital.
The Program is funded through the Reef Trust. The Reef Trust is Australia's investment program to protect and manage the Reef. The Program will support delivery of the Reef 2050 Plan.
Applications close Friday 17 January 2025.
