Small businesses and retailers in Reservoir in Melbourne's north will benefit from a free program designed to equip them with critical skills and strategies to support their economic development and growth.
'Thrive Reservoir' is being delivered by La Trobe University and business investment service Investible, in partnership with the Victorian Government and Darebin City Council. The 10-week program open to businesses in Reservoir. Any small to medium business in Reservoir can apply, such as retail businesses, food service, beauty services, manufacturing and creative businesses.
Weekly two-hour workshops will focus on upskilling participants in areas of business model development, entrepreneurial thinking, digital strategy, customer acquisition, financial modelling, and ethical supply chains.
Participants will also have access to speakers who are experts in their field and help to create networks of support and potential collaborations within a community of like-minded local business owners.
La Trobe Pro Vice-Chancellor (Industry Engagement) Dr Megan Fisher said supporting small businesses to adapt, innovate and grow, is a key part of La Trobe's mission as a university.
"We work closely with business-owners every day and understand the significant challenges many have faced over the last two years," Dr Fisher said.
"We are pleased to leverage our expertise and strong track-record in innovation and entrepreneurship to create better outcomes for small business, and the community as a whole."
The program is funded by the Victorian Government as part of the Reservoir Suburban Revitalisation program.

Business owners from all industry sectors in Reservoir are encouraged to apply. Only 25 places in the highly acclaimed program are available.
