Suspect Held After Tasmania Driving Chaos

A man is in police custody following a dangerous driving incident in Southern Tasmania this afternoon.

About 2.15pm a white Subaru Liberty (registration B24MP) allegedly evaded police on the East Derwent Highway at Gagebrook.

Police, assisted by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, conducted a search and located the vehicle in Sorell and safely took the driver into custody.

Anyone who saw the vehicle driving dangerously between Gagebrook and Sorell is asked to contact Bridgewater Police on 131 444 or provide information through Crime Stoppers Tasmania (this can be done anonymously) at crimestopperstas.com.au or on 1800 333 000 – quote reference ESCAD 205-09012025.
