Suspicious Unit Fire At Clarence Park

Police are investigating a fire that damaged a ground floor unit at Clarence Park overnight.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a unit fire in Margaret Street, Clarence Park about 10.40pm on Friday 27 December.

The unoccupied unit was engulfed in flames when emergency services arrived, and the fire was extinguished by fire crews.

The interior of the unit was destroyed however adjoining units only sustained minimal smoke damage.

Fire cause investigators attended and examined the scene last night and the fire is being treated as suspicious.

Southern District CIB detectives will attend the scene this morning to continue the investigation.
