A driver has died and three passengers have been injured when an SUV left the road and hit a tree north of Taree overnight.
Emergency services were called to Lansdowne Road at Cundletown, about 14km north-east of Taree, shortly before 9.30pm yesterday (Monday 31 March 2025), and found four people trapped after a black Jeep crashed.
The driver died at the scene; however, three passengers – two men and a woman – were removed from the vehicle and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
A man and a woman were taken by road to Port Macquarie Hospital, while a second man was taken to Taree base Hospital. They are being treated for a range injuries including fractures; however, none are believed to be life-threatening.
Inquiries are now underway by officers attached to Manning-Great Lakes Police District.
Lansdowne Road will be closed for several hours and drivers should avoid the area.
