Environment Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson is inviting local environmental community groups to apply for the latest round of Swan Alcoa Landcare Program (SALP) grants.
SALP works to deliver positive environmental outcomes for Western Australia and is funded through a partnership with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, the Burswood Park Board and Alcoa Australia, and is delivered by Perth NRM.
Now in its 24th year, SALP has provided more than $9.2 million in grants to deliver around 1,500 on-ground environmental projects.
Since its inception, the program has successfully revegetated more than 3,000 hectares of land.
Projects have included weed control and the planting of native species around waterways and bushland, the removal of feral bees, control of phytophthora, the installation of bird and bat nesting boxes and more.

As stated by Environment Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson:
"Over the years, the Swan Alcoa Landcare Program has funded wonderful environmental projects that aim to protect, manage and improve natural assets to enhance and restore the critical habitat and ecological linkages within the greater Perth region.
"The success of this program is underpinned by the passionate community groups and volunteers who dedicate their time to improving our bushland and waterways.
"I encourage interested groups to submit an application and I look forward to seeing the successful projects come to life."
