Sydney Harbour National Park Hazard Reduction Burn

National Parks and Wildlife Service, together with Fire and Rescue NSW will be conducting a hazard reduction burn in Sydney Harbour National Park, between Taylors Bay and Bradleys Head Road at Bradleys Head on Wednesday, July 24, weather permitting.

The 9 ha burn extends west of Taylors Bay and is bounded by Bradleys Head Road, north to St Elmo's Street. Taylors Bay track will be closed for public safety. Traffic control will be in place on Bradleys Head Road. Those in the area should anticipate delays.

The aim of the burn is to improve protection for properties adjacent to the burn at Bradleys Head, to reduce the spread of wildfire within Sydney Harbour National Park and to promote biodiversity by maintaining appropriate fire regimes across the reserve system.

Smoke may affect the area and people with asthma or other respiratory problems are advised to keep clear of the area or stay indoors, close windows and doors, and follow their health plan.
