Sydney Man Charged Over Child Abuse Material in South West

A man will appear in court today charged with allegedly filming and possessing child abuse material.

About 1.30pm yesterday (Monday 3 June 2024), police were called to a school in Sydney's south west, following reports of an incident.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command were told a man, aged 30, had used his phone to make recordings of students.

The man was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with film person's private parts without consent (aggravated), produce child abuse material, and film person's private parts without consent.

He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Tuesday 4 June 2024).

Inquiries are ongoing.
